Transfers and exchanges
When we allocate homes we make sure that the property is suitable for its occupants. We do realise however, that households and household circumstances change over time.
It may be that your home is now too small or indeed too large for your family or that you need to change house due to medical reasons.
The Association operates a transfer scheme and we will be pleased to send you the appropriate application form and information on request. Please click here to request a form.
Due to the shortage of vacant properties and the very few vacancies that occur, it may take some time to obtain a transfer. Likewise you may not qualify for a move.
This being the case, you may apply for a Mutual Exchange. In our office we maintain a register of other tenants who wish to move. If you agree a swap we will normally agree such a move.
A number of conditions apply including:
- Most importantly, you must have a conducted your tenancy in a satisfactory
manner;
- Both parties must agree to swap;
- The properties must be of a suitable size and type for both households.
